Das Unternehmen

EEP Elektro-Elektronik Pranjic was founded in 1989 in Herne by Kruno Pranjic who remains the owner of the company today. In 2007 EEP moved to larger premises at its current headquarters in Gelsenkirchen.

In its early years the company’s core business was standard industrial electronics. The scope of services included maintenance and repair of electro-hydraulic control systems. Soon, however, EEP developed its own fully automated electro-hydraulic longwall control system that was successfully put into service at the Ibbenbüren coal mine.

In subsequent years EEP steadily broadened its product portfolio and developed into a well-known all-round supplier of mining technology. Soon the product range included fieldbus-based data transfer systems linking underground and surface operations. In 2005 the company increased its services to include complete mining hydraulic systems and its first own-developed intrinsically safe programmable logic controller (PLC) for all underground control applications was supplied to customers.

At the same time EEP expanded its international activities. By the end of the 1990s contacts were made with the Russian and Chinese mining industries, resulting in the first large order from China in 2002.

Today the range of EEP’s products includes fully automated electro-hydraulic longwall control systems including all the associated hydraulics, high-performance data transfer systems, modern safety features and complex control systems for machines of all types. A large variety of couplers allow external components to be easily integrated into an overall system and for data to be archived and visualised.

Over 70 fully automated EEP longwall control systems are now in use in China, Germany, Poland, Russia and the Ukraine. EEP data transmission systems are also in successful operation in many mines around the world. The intrinsically safe EEP PLC system with its modular design enables all specific customer requirements to be implemented quickly and simply and is used in plough and shearer controllers, belt controllers, manipulators, pump and filter stations, in power supply control units, underground safety systems and elsewhere.
